If you have still not linked your Permanent Account Number (PAN) with Aadhaar then you might get in trouble. For income tax-payers, 30 June 2021 is the last date to link Aadhaar card to PAN card. If you have not lined your PAN with Aadhaar then you might not just be subjected to a fine of Rs 1000. The date has been extended from the earlier deadline of 31 March 2021. Not just this, the PAN card will also become inoperative.
The income tax department has informed about this on its Official Twitter handle @IncomeTaxIndia. “Central Government extends the last date for linking of Aadhaar number with PAN from 31st March 2021 to 30th June 2021, in view of the difficulties arising out of the COVID-19 pandemic,” the tweet said.
