BRICS summit 2022: PM Modi to attend 14th virtual meet with Putin, Xi; to review current global issues

Prime Minister Modi will participate in the BRICS summit today. The conference is being organized virtually and will be held at 5:00 pm IST today.

Prime Minister Modi's speech in the conference will be at 5:45 pm.  Apart from President Xi Jinping, Russian President Putin, Brazilian President Bolsonaro and South African President Cyril Ramaphosa will participate in the virtual conference of BRICS being hosted by China. 

During the 14th BRICS summit, many issues like terrorism, trade, health, environment, science and technology will be discussed.

It is worth noting that the BRICS summit is being held at a time when the tension on the border between India and China continues, the war between Ukraine and Russia is still going on. In such a situation, the issue of Ukraine is also expected to be discussed during this conference. Apart from this, a high-level discussion on the changing geo political equations of the world will also take place during the conference tomorrow.
 
 
Indian Ambassador to China Pradeep Kumar Rawat has met Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi ahead of today's virtual BRICS summit.
 
Indian Ambassador in China  Pradeep Rawat also met with President of Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, Mr. Jin Liqun at AIIB HQ today. Range of issues like partnership between AIIB & India, social development including healthcare and education, infrastructure development projects, were discussed.
